Five days ago, on Monday, the sun came out, the wind dropped, and the temperature rose over 40°. Though we’ve had frosts every night, the blessings of 50° and sunshine during the daytime has felt almost like Florida. Today it is supposed to break 60° F.
Getting up between 3 and 4 every morning to work, I am a little too busy and a little too tired. However the bright skies are hugely cheering.
The wood frogs that had vanished for ten cold and gloomy days are back in chorus. The birds are calling and flitting in the bare brush. Buds are swelling on the trees. Here and there the brown rumpled fields are beginning to flush green.
I will be grateful for June and the chance to be outside every day, a part of it all.
