Yesterday I got up at 3 AM and I finished writing the last of my 37 student reports at 7 PM, just before serving dinner. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! I am so relieved to have the last of my school responsibilities off my neck. I love teaching but the house and farm have been clamoring for my attention for a month, and I’ve had no time.

I’m deeply excited for this summer when I have no single overwhelming job (I am not moving, I am not starting a big building project) and thus I can organize and synthesize. I can scrub and vacuum! I can garden! I can mow! I can fix fence, I can spread manure! I can pick up rocks! I can build doors and lockers, I can learn to tile! I can see our grandbaby!

It will take me a few days to catch up on sleep and unwind from the stress of the last year. But I have eleven weeks and a very long list and I couldn’t be happier.
